Deborah U. Waters, M.D.
Sports Medicine Consultant to Central Consolidated School District
Dr. Waters has had an expansive career in athletics on a wide variety of sports and levels of involvement. She served in the USAF at a variety of posts including Developing Aerobic Exercise Program for USAF Pararescue Program, Lackland, AFB, Texas.
Dr. Waters is committed to her postgraduate training and completed courses as varied as University of Washington, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Board Review Course and Adolescent and Pediatric Sports medicine Course, Sponsored by American Academy of Pediatrics, Monterey, California.
Her zeal for working with developing athletes has been evident throughout her career, working with USA Boxing in the eighties and Team Physician, Men’s & Women’s Gymnastics and USA Weightlifting Team in the 1984 Olympics. Dr waters currently Medical Liaison for Olympic Trials & Teams USA Basketball.
Dr. Waters is now bringing her impressive body of knowledge to the Central Consolidated School District of New Mexico. Through her research into injury and performance in this small district, she was able to demonstrate the need for better training facilities to ensure the students under her care had the best opportunity to develop to their potential. For BFS working with a committed physician of Dr. Waters’ caliber is everything we could ask for in terms of putting the students best interests and safe development as our foremost goal.
