They also hav e the state's longest regular winning streak with 23 consecutive win s. All-State honors went to Hamric and his receiver Matt McCulty. Guard Anthony Blosser also garnered AllState honors. SR Bret Powell FB, SR Dave McCutcheon Guard and SR Tob y Ford DT were all-C onferenc e selections . We thank everyone at Spencer but especially Coach Jim Hamric a nd Coach Larry Greathouse for instilling Upper Limit ideals and the noble principle of refusing to lose.

Dear Coach Shepard, In the spring of 1989, a few of our Spencer High School football players and I attended a BFS clinic conducted by Coach Rick Anderson in Huntington, West Virginia. The BFS program we were introduced to that day proved to become one of the most important aspects ofour football program here at Spencer High School. The other players who attended the clinic and I introduced the program to the rest of our team. Both players and coaches were excited about what we had found, and we were eager to see what the results would be. That year, we finished the season with a record of 8-2.

The followin g year, our team finished with a 12-1 record, losing by only two points to the defending state champions. This past season, our team finished 14-0 and became West Virginia Class AAState Champions and currently hold the long est winning streak in the state of West Virginia. It is truly felt that by teaching our players to serve God, their family, and their school they will achieve what the BFS attitude is all about: becoming an individual who will excel not only on the field, but as a productive member of society.
