BFS Half Racks
Space-efficient half racks with the strength and stability of full cages — outfit more stations in less floor space.
Back to all productsHalf Racks: More Stations in Less Floor Space
Half racks are how team rooms multiply stations without multiplying square footage. Two uprights with spotter arms give athletes a safe squat and press station while keeping the coach's sightline open across the whole room — the supervision angle matters as much as the footprint.
If you're deciding between half racks and full cages, start from your largest training group and your floor plan. Send us your room dimensions and athlete count and we'll lay out the station count that actually fits — and quote it PO-ready.
Common Questions
Are half racks safe enough for high school athletes?
Yes — with spotter arms set at the right height and coaches trained on supervision, half racks are a team-room standard. Programs with many first-year lifters sometimes prefer full cages for maximum containment; the BFS Report Card can help you assess your supervision setup free.
How much space does a half rack station need?
Plan roughly a 4' x 8' zone per station plus walkway clearance, so athletes can load plates and spotters can work. A combo half-rack station with an integrated platform defines the space cleanly.
How many half racks fit compared to power racks?
As a rule of thumb, half racks let you fit roughly 20-30% more stations in the same footprint — which is often the difference between training a full period in one rotation or two.
